Mayor of Pooler Provides Road Improvement Update

'Stay home, stay off the roads,' McIntosh County official urges

POOLER, Ga. () – Mayor Karen Williams released an update on winter storm recovery updates Wednesday night.

Williams said that they have taken several precautionary measures including salting several bridges ahead of potential refreezing that could happen Wednesday night.

Williams also included some reported road conditions:

“Thanks to our proactive and ongoing efforts and the support of GDOT, our primary roadways are largely passable,” said Mayor Williams. “However, there is still significant concern about traveling on any of these roadways, especially with the hard freeze and subsequent increased potential for black ice expected tonight. We still strongly encourage residents to refrain from traveling unless absolutely necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.”
