MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — Gus Martin and Greson Vance from Scouting America Troop 490 in Monticello joined WCIA 3’s Taylor Mitchell in the studio to talk about an upcoming event.
On November 1, Troop 490 will host a lively trivia night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The evening promises a delicious pork dinner, an exciting raffle, and more surprises at the Monticello Christian Church.
The funds generated through this event will support the scouts’ journey to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, helping cover ticket expenses and other related costs.
“They’ll hike each day,” Martin said. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our scouts. This is one of those trips that’s on every scout’s bucket list. It’s going to be super beneficial for these scouts to learn how to survive out there with little means.”
You can purchase tickets for the event here. Visit Troop 490 on Facebook to learn more.
