JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A motorcyclist was arrested after speeding, running red lights, and hitting a Jacksonville Police Department squad car on Saturday.
Officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded near the intersection of W. Morton Avenue and S. Fayette Street around 6:30 p.m.
The police department said a motorcyclist was driving recklessly at high rates of speed, disobeying traffic signals, and riding on one wheel. Police also said the motorcyclist, identified as Blake K. Barnett, hit a stopped squad car.
At the time of the accident, Barnett was estimated to be driving between 10-20 miles per hour. Both Barnett and the driver of the squad car were uninjured, the police department said.
Barnett was arrested for felony aggravated fleeing of police, reckless driving and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to the Jacksonville Police Department.
