SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — While Kendall Bostic’s playing days at Illinois are over, her dedication to the community has only begun.

The former Illinois standout hosted her annual Inspire-HER camp as a free camp for area girls to run drills and learn from Bostic about her journey to becoming the Illini’s all-time leading rebounder.

“The Champaign community rallied behind us as a team so much and it just kind of became its own thing,” said Bostic. “We started with 12 kids at the first camp and now, I mean, we had over 136 register for this one. Basketball, I feel like nowadays, with everything, so much like pressure, pressure, pressure, you have all this stuff, you should be doing AAU in second grade, but I just want these kids to have fun with it.”

It was recently announced that Bostic would continue to sport orange and blue as a member of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. She was named Associate Director of Development for Varsity I, Illinois’s letterwinner organization that strives to keep student-athletes involved postgrad.
