AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Over 13,000 students took the Georgia Milestones tests in Richmond County for the 2024-2025 school year, and the Richmond County School System is reporting systemwide gains.

According to RCSS in a press release sent on Aug. 8, students improved performance on End of Course (EOC) assessments in Algebra I, American literature and biology across the district.
Students in grades 4 through 8 showed gains in mathematics on the End of Grade (EOG) assessments. Fifth-grade students improved in science, while eighth graders saw growth in both science and social studies.

RCSS said several schools reported subject-area gains across multiple disciplines, which include the following:

“Georgia Milestones data is one of many tools we use to understand how our students are progressing, and this year’s results are a reflection of our students’ hard work and the commitment of our teachers, leaders and families,” said Dr. Malinda Cobb, interim superintendent of schools.
