The race for the Democratic seat has ended in a runoff as none of the three candidates in the race (Peter Hubbar, Robert Jones and Keisha Sean Waites) gained 50% of the vote. This means that he top two vote getters, Keisha Sean Waites and Peter Hubbard, will likely meet again next month in a second round of voting.

The winner of the runoff will face Fitz Johnson in the final election for the District 3 seat.
