“Six Individuals Facing Accusations of Mistreating Non-Verbal Man at Greeneville Group Home”

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Six people have been charged after allegedly abusing and neglecting an intellectually disabled victim at a Greeneville group home.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), an investigation began in August after the bureau received a referral from Adult Protective Services. Investigators with the TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division started looking into alleged abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult at the group home, which is operated by Support Solutions.

Agents discovered that multiple people employed as direct support professionals and the residential manager were reportedly involved in what the TBI described as “ongoing abuse and neglect.”

The TBI noted in a news release that the male victim is intellectually disabled and non-verbal.

A grand jury returned indictments charging six people with the following:

All six suspects were arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Greene County Jail.
