SAVANNAH, Ga. () — St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School held its 19th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday.

Teh 2025 Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal Jay Burke and his aides lead the annual parade and judged the student float contest.

Wynter Kelly, principal of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School, says, “Each class decorates a parade entry and competes for the grand prize of a huge bag of candy for the whole class to enjoy. They put a lot of time and effort and creativity into it and we’re really proud of the floats that they make.”

This year the Savannah Police Department`s Mounted Patrol and the Limerick Pipe and Drums Band from Ireland joined the parade.

The parade started years ago as part of the PreK-4 students’ study of transportation and incorporates the celebration of the patron saint of Ireland. Ireland is the homeland of former St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church pastors Father Patrick O’Brien and Monsignor James Costigan.
