Storm Team 3: Delightful Fall Weather to Persist Through the Weekend

Share and Follow

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Get ready for a delightful autumn day! The forecast promises an abundance of sunshine, complemented by a gentle breeze, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s by the afternoon. This ideal weather follows a crisp morning that started off in the 50s, all courtesy of a robust high-pressure system dominating the region.

As we look towards tomorrow, that high-pressure system will start to move eastward, paving the way for a cold front to make its approach later in the day. With the arrival of this front, there’s a slight chance of encountering a few isolated showers by the afternoon and evening. Once the front passes, Monday will bring a noticeable drop in temperatures. Expect morning lows in the 40s and 50s, with daytime highs only reaching the mid to upper 70s. Despite the cooler air, mostly sunny skies will help maintain a pleasant feel.

The trend of autumn-like conditions extends into Tuesday, featuring highs once again in the upper 70s and low 80s under sunny skies. A dry cold front is anticipated to pass through late Tuesday into Wednesday, leaving no rain in its wake but nudging temperatures slightly downward. On Wednesday, temperatures will peak only in the mid to upper 70s, which is below the seasonal average.

Peering further into the week, high pressure is set to return, ensuring a continuation of sunny and dry weather. Expect consistent afternoon highs in the 70s, while overnight temperatures will settle into the upper 40s to lower 50s. If you enjoy fall weather, this week is tailored just for you!

In the Tropics…

Central Tropical Atlantic (East of the Windward Islands):

There’s a tropical wave out in the central Atlantic, about 900 miles east of the Windward Islands. It’s kicking up a broad area of showers and thunderstorms right now. While it’s not showing much development in the short term, there’s a small chance it could gradually strengthen over the next several days as it moves west at about 20 mph. Chance of formation in the next 48 hours: Low – near 0%. Chance of formation in the next 7 days: Low – 30%

North Atlantic (Off the Northeastern U.S. Coast):

There’s also a low-pressure system well offshore of the northeastern U.S. It’s not tropical, but there’s a slight chance it could pick up some subtropical characteristics over the weekend. That said, it’s likely to head northeast over cooler waters early next week, which should shut down any further development. Chance of formation in the next 48 hours: Low – 10%. Chance of formation in the next 7 days: Low – 10%
