SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The unsettled conditions continued Saturday with periods of rain and storms throughout the day.
Plenty of rainfall on very wet ground led to trouble spots in Beaufort County, the Richmond Hill area, the Chatham County Islands, and other portions of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
Passing showers and a few rumbles of thunder are expected into this evening.Evening rain chances will taper off by late Saturday night into early Sunday as low pressure pulls away from the area.
Sunday will bring scattered storms if enough sunshine can pop out. While the flood risk is not overly high, any heavy rain may lead to localized flooding Sunday.
The new week will bring welcomed relief from rain chances as Monday features only isolated storm chances. A cold front will sweep through the region Monday into Tuesday, bringing a cooldown.
Rain chances will drop off to 20% each day from Tuesday through at least next weekend. Mornings will be pleasant with most areas starting out in the 60s, and afternoon highs looking to be 5° below average.
