Three arrested at GRACE Marketplace with a child and drugs in the car

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Minleshia Renee Janece Jackson, 28; Andria Mychelle Lamari White, 29; and Michael Donavon Wright, 26, were arrested last night and charged with various drug charges. Jackson was also charged with child neglect because her 8-year-old was “in an environment where dangerous narcotics were present and accessible.”

A Gainesville Police Department officer made contact with a black Chrysler at GRACE Marketplace at about 6:15 p.m. following an anonymous tip that the car’s occupants might be involved in narcotics activity.

The officer reported that as he approached the car, White jumped out of the driver’s seat and said she had called the police. The officer noted that Wright was in the front passenger seat, and Jackson and an 8-year-old child were in the back seat. The officer wrote that he could see a smoked “roach blunt” in plain view on the center console, and White reportedly said she had smoked marijuana earlier in the car.

The officer reported finding 8.47 grams of MDPV; 11.8 grams of “spice,” a synthetic cannabinoid; a digital scale; and multiple baggies in a probable-cause search. Another officer reportedly found 2.3 grams of marijuana in the door next to Wright. Jackson reportedly said she had marijuana in her purse, and 1.88 grams of marijuana were found, along with a small amount of MDPV.

Post Miranda, Wright denied ownership or knowledge of anything in the car.

Post Miranda, White reportedly said Wright had brought the spice into the car and that it was his. She said she had dropped off Jackson and the child at GRACE to do their laundry, and she and Wright had left. White said Wright told her she could make some easy money, so they drove to Pineridge, where she said Wright went into an apartment and came out with the substance found in the center console; she said she didn’t know what it was. She said they drove back to GRACE, where Jackson and the child got back into the car. She reportedly added that the marijuana in the door next to Wright was hers.

Post Miranda, Jackson reportedly said the substance in her purse was “molly” and that she had used it at GRACE while her son was playing basketball and she was supposed to be supervising him. She reportedly denied knowledge of the drugs, other than the molly and marijuana that were found in her purse.

Jackson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, and child neglect without great bodily harm. She has no local criminal history, and her bail information is unavailable.

White was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. She has three felony convictions and has served one state prison sentence for robbery. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $75,500.

Wright was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He is also facing a sworn complaint for domestic battery on January 18 and had an active warrant for violation of probation on a previous conviction for possession of a controlled substance. Wright has five felony convictions, has served one state prison sentence, and has three violations of probation. He is being held without bond for violating probation, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones added bail of $85,000 on the new charges.
