TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Authorities in Titusville are actively seeking to identify an individual who has been spotted taking photographs of Titusville High School, raising concerns among school officials and law enforcement.

The incident took place early Wednesday morning when the unidentified person entered the school’s parking lot on foot at approximately 8:45 a.m. According to the Titusville Police Department, the individual was observed capturing images of the school grounds and certain areas of the campus from behind the perimeter fence.

The police have released footage of the suspect, describing them as having lighter skin and possibly being male. The individual was seen wearing a dark, knee-length overcoat and appeared to walk with a hunched posture, which might aid in their identification.

Despite the unusual activity, the police have assured the public that there is no immediate threat posed by this person to the students, staff, or the wider community. “Detectives are keen to identify and communicate with this individual to ascertain their motives,” stated a social media post from the department.

Detective Sgt. Bryan Nelson of the Titusville police emphasized the department’s commitment to safety in a statement, highlighting their collaboration with Brevard Public Schools and the sheriff’s office. The combined effort aims to swiftly identify the person in question and maintain a secure environment for everyone at the school.

“At this stage, there is no evidence to suggest this person poses a danger, but we want to speak with them out of an abundance of caution and transparency,” he said.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the person is asked to contact the police department by calling 321-264-7800, or to remain anonymous by contacting Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

The agency also asked that surrounding businesses and residents living near Titusville High School check their security cameras and contact police if they see the individual.
