SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Welcome to the fifteenth installment of Friday Night Blitz, where we dive into the thrilling events of last night’s high school football games.
Hampton County’s playoff journey continues after a decisive win against Manning, clinching a spot in the next round of the SCHSL Class 2A playoffs with a commanding 56-6 victory.
The game kicked off with Karinton Sabb electrifying the field, snagging an 80-yard touchdown pass that set the pace for the evening. Meanwhile, Hampton’s defense was relentless, forcing numerous turnovers and restricting Manning to a single score.
This marks a significant achievement for Hampton County, following the 2023 merger of Wade Hampton and Estill. Wade Hampton last reached the semifinals in 2018 under Coach Jerry Brown, while Estill had a semifinal appearance in 2014 with J.C. Threatt at the helm.
The Hurricanes entered the match not only with aspirations of advancing in the playoffs but also seeking redemption after last season’s narrow 28-27 overtime defeat to Manning.
Hampton’s next game is set against Central on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.
Screven County’s post season run stays alive as they win at home against Charlton County, 21-14.
With eight minutes left in the first, AB Hilton ran the ball to the endzone to put the Gamecocks in the lead.
This win advances Screven County to the quarterfinals of the GHSA playoffs, which they haven’t reached since 2017.
Screven County is set to face off against Early County on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at 7 p.m.
