SAVANNAH, Ga. () – All six suspects in the July 2 Oglethorpe Mall shooting have been indicted on all charges they are accused of, including felony murder.
The young men, ages 16-20, were indicted on 71 total charges by a Chatham County Grand Jury Wednesday.
The indictment includes charges of unlawful gang activity for each suspect. To prove gang charges in court, there needs to be a predicated act in the name of the gang, such as aggravated assault.
Royce Haynes, 17, and Franklin James, 16, were indicted on one count of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and one count of possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18.
Dahmil Johnson, 16, and Johnathan Jones, 20, were indicted on one count of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
Aujawan Hymon, 20, was indicted on possession of an illegal weapon, felony murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and two counts of aggravated assault.
Theron Robbins, 20, was indicted on one count of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during an attempted crime and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
