CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery is looking for volunteers to help them care for baby goats.
Kidding season is coming up, and the farm is encouraging community members to sign up to bottle feed, cuddle with, and care for their animals.
Volunteers can choose a timeslot that fits into their schedules. Morning cuddles take place at 6:15 a.m., midday bottle service is at 11:15 a.m. and evening feeds are at 4:15 p.m.
Prairie Farms will host several orientation sessions to train volunteers before their shifts. The orientations will begin in February. For more information, and to sign up, click here.
Kids that are 8 years old or older can participate with a parents or guardian. 16- and 17-year-olds can volunteer on their own, with a signed waiver.
If you would like to be a kidding season volunteer but cannot attend any of the five scheduled orientations, contact Prairie Farms herd manager at Rose@prairiefruitsfarm.com. Kid feeding shifts will begin in March.
