VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy faces charges after the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the child made online threats against his middle school.
Deputies said that the FBI notified them that the child “wrote in a Tik Tok comment he was going to shoot up Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach and mentioned staff members in the comment.”
According to a news release, deputies responded to the boy’s home and determined he did not have access to weapons.
Deputies said the child was arrested on Saturday and taken into custody and transported to the Family Resource Center.
No other information was release, including exactly what charges the boy may face.
News 6 is not naming or showing the child due to his age.
