Mandan officer-involved crash leaves one dead

BISMARCK, N.D. () A Watford City woman was killed in a fatal rollover crash occurring on Highway 85 on Friday, February 23.

According to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), at approximately 10:48 p.m., a 2017 Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Highway 85 four miles south of Williston when its driver lost control of the vehicle.

The car crossed over the center of the road before entering the east ditch, overturning, and coming to rest on the ice of the Missouri River. Both occupants of the Impala were then ejected.

The driver of the vehicle — a 36-year-old woman from Watford City — suffered fatal injuries during the crash, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Impala’s passenger (a 34-year-old man also from Watford City) sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident, and was not transported to the hospital.

The accident currently remains under investigation.
