A rental unit being advertised for $430 a week has raised eyebrows among prospective tenants for one particular reason.

The unit in Charlestown, southwest of Newcastle, contains two bedrooms, a separate bathroom and an ensuite shower.

The price may be appealing to most renters, however a small detail in the property has left several feeling unsettled.

Photos reveal the shower is not in a separate room and instead inside the master bathroom with a sink right next to the bed.

The unit came to light in a video posted to TikTok by social media influencer Rach McQueen, who reviews ‘dodgy’ properties on the social media app.

‘The person who sent this in said the deeper you look the worse it gets,’ Ms McQueen said.

After reviewing the rest of the photos in the listing, Ms McQueen then starts criticising the master bedroom.

‘Here is the main bedroom with the ensuite attached to it, and look it doesn’t look too bad does it,’ she said.

Ms McQueen then reveals the ensuite shower.

‘That’s a shower, in the bedroom, next to the bed,’ she said.

‘So the person who lives in the other bedroom has to come into this bedroom to shower right next to this persons bed. What the f**k?’

Other social media users took to the comments section to express how shocked they were by the listing.

‘The way I gasped at that “ensuite”,’ one wrote.

‘I wonder if they ripped out an old corner spa to make room for the bed,’ a second wrote.

‘They could have at least built a wall to separate the bathroom from the bedroom,’ a third wrote.

‘I’m unsure what noise I even made when I saw the ensuite,’ another added.

The unit was once part of a bigger household that was sold for $187,500 in February 2000.

The property featured five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a car space before it was split into units.

The managing real estate agency, Leah Jay, said the property had air conditioning, an open-plan living and dining area and water and electricity bills included in rent.

The agency also shares a warning in the listing.

‘Whilst all care has been taken preparing this advertisement and the information contained herein has been obtained from sources, we believe to be reliable,’ it reads.
