An illegal migrant trucker who was caught and released by the Biden administration is accused of causing a horrific eight-car pile-up that killed three people. Dashcam footage captured the moment the semi-truck rammed into the back of a traffic queue after failing to reduce speed shortly before 1:15pm on Tuesday afternoon on the 10 Freeway in Ontario, California. The terrifying video shows the semi-truck smashing into the back of a white SUV, before causing a red sedan to erupt into a fireball as it was pushed into another truck. A total of eight vehicles, including four semi-trucks were impacted.

An undocumented immigrant, previously released by the Biden administration, is now facing charges following a devastating eight-vehicle collision that claimed three lives. Captured on dashcam, the incident unfolded on Tuesday around 1:15 p.m. on the 10 Freeway in Ontario, California, when a semi-truck failed to decelerate and violently crashed into a queue of traffic. The footage reveals the truck barreling into a white SUV, which then triggered a fiery chain reaction involving a red sedan and another truck, ultimately affecting eight vehicles, including four semi-trucks.

Police have identified the driver as 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh (pictured) from Yuba City, California. He was arrested at the scene for being under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter, according to KTLA. Singh is an undocumented immigrant from India who was caught and released at the California border in 2022, according to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh from Yuba City, California. He was apprehended at the scene on charges of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter, reports KTLA. Singh, originally from India, had entered the U.S. illegally and was released at the California border in 2022, as noted by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

Melugin also shared via X that ICE has issued a detainer for Singh, requesting the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s office to extend his detention beyond standard protocols. “After being transported to the hospital for medical evaluation, our officers confirmed Singh was under the influence of drugs,” stated California Highway Patrol Officer Rodrigo Jiminez to ABC7.

The suspect has been booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga to await charges. Witness Jason Calmelat saw the whole crash from a parking lot facing the freeway. He told KTLA, 'The red truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when everyone else was stopped. He didn¿t hit his brakes, he didn¿t try to slow down, he just went full force into the back of another truck, crushing two other cars.' Two victims were pronounced dead on the scene. A third died after being taken to the hospital.

Officials say that one of the individuals was a 54-year-old man from Upland, California. The remaining fatalities were severely burned in the flames and have not been identified. Four others were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries. The condition of the survivors has not been released. 'This is sadly a reminder of how precious life is, and how fast it could be taken away at the hands of somebody who is driving irresponsibly, somebody who is impaired,' said Officer Jimenez.

Several cars were also badly charred and mangled in the tragic crash. The collision forced all westbound lanes to close into Tuesday evening, citing ‘very heavy traffic and extended delays,’ according to CBS. The freeway reopened early Wednesday morning. The Daily Mail reached out to the California Highway Patrol for comment.
