Noem, who oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in her role atop DHS, has been pictured at department events dressed in the same ensemble several times this week. Her outfit was not the source of tension between Noem and Ingraham, however, that came as a result of the secretary dodging the TV host's questions.

Her outfit was not the source of tension between Noem and Ingraham, however, that came as a result of the secretary dodging the TV host’s questions.

'I¿m asking a question because I expect an answer,' Ingraham told Noem after the secretary repeatedly avoided the host's questions on whether sanctuary city leaders will face repercussions for not complying with Trump's immigration orders. Already ICE has arrested over 7,500 aliens since Donald Trump entered office, a White House official revealed to DailyMail.com this week. Deportation efforts have been underway daily since the Republican's inauguration.

Still, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have all pledged their city's will not aid DHS or ICE in apprehending criminal migrants. The secretary seemed uneasy answering the question when the Fox News host initially posed it. Ingraham had to ask Noem three times if she 'will go after' the mayors.

The secretary seemed uneasy answering the question when the Fox News host initially posed it. Ingraham had to ask Noem three times if she ‘will go after’ the mayors.

'Yeah, we are still going into their communities,' Noem answered before the host cut her off. 'How about with the officials that interfere with federal law enforcement?' Ingraham asked. 'You know, they will,' Noem began.

'But the federal government has the authority to go in and to make their communities safer, especially these that are perpetuating dangerous.' Noem shared before getting cut off again. Ingraham interjected: 'But what about these officials who get in your way?' 'Will there be repercussions for them personally?'

Ingraham interjected: ‘But what about these officials who get in your way?’ ‘Will there be repercussions for them personally?’

Noem again tried to satiate Ingraham's thirst for details: 'The reality is these sanctuary cities their laws have caused us problems.' 'They are limiting some of our tools that we want in our toolbox, but we¿re going to continue to go in and use our operations and then show in other cities how it¿s working, and tell our story to the American people,' the secretary shared. That answer finally set off Ingraham, who retorted: 'But will you go after them personally? I¿m going to ask for the third time?'

'I¿m asking a question because I expect an answer. Will you go after these individual mayors who are saying essentially they are going to thwart federal authority?' The host continued: 'You guys have the authority over immigration enforcement, they don¿t.' Finally, Noem budged.

'Listen, Laura: Nobody is above the law. Of course we will,' she said matter of factly before adding a caveat. 'But that¿s up to President Trump. President Trump gives us the direction. I don¿t sit here and make up a decision on what do. I follow the law. That¿s my job.' 'We treat everybody the same in this country now that we have President Trump in the White House, and is he going to give us direction on how we are going to go after these individuals,' Noem answered.
