Three people accused of running Queensland child sex ring arrested after alleged horror abuse

--Advertisment--

An alleged child sex ring involving ‘up to 15 people’ which police claim involved extortion and the horrific abuse of victims aged between one month and 14 years has been shut down by police.

Queensland Police will allege a 64-year-old man ran the sick operation from his home at Kelso, Townsville, with the help of two mothers, aged 38 and 41, for two years.

The allegations arising from the three month police operation called Tango Rosetta include claims he subjected the women’s two young daughters – aged four and six – to appalling abuse including allegedly using them as sex slaves.

The three people allegedly at the centre of a child sex ring will face Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday charged with child exploitation and domestic violence offences

Police will further allege he organised the exchange of young victims to other locals for sexual acts, then extorted ‘in excess of $50,0000’ from them.

Police arrested the man and the two women, from Condon and North Ward, on Thursday, charging them ‘with a variety of offences’.

Those include extortion, domestic violence and a range of child exploitation offences.

The three are due to face Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday.

The women were allegedly part of the ring, but could not be named to protect the identities of the victims.

The alleged child sex ring was based on ‘family associations and education’, police said.
