THE FBI has taken over the expansive search effort for Travis Decker, the father wanted in connection with the murders of his three young daughters.

Decker, 33, disappeared into a wooded campground in Chelan County, Washington, after he allegedly suffocated his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, on June 2.

On Monday, the FBI said they are conducting an expansive search of the Rock Island Campground – the site where Decker was last seen and where the bodies of his three daughters were found.

The federal agency said there is no evidence that Decker is alive or dead, but nonetheless will conduct a grid search operation of the area.

“We hope to find evidence that will lead us to Travis Decker or any information regarding the murder of his three daughters by thoroughly searching and documenting the area,” Peter Orth, the FBI Supervisory Senior Resident Agent in Yakima/Tri-Cities Resident Agency, said.
