Forensic officers are pictured at one of the crime scenes following the fatal double killing in London on Saturday evening where two 16-year-old boys were stabbed to death

Two 16-year-old boys have become the latest victims of lawless London tonight following a double-murder in Greenwich.

Police and paramedics were scrambled just after 5pm on Saturday to find two victims with stab wounds at Sewell Road in Abbey Wood and Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead, less than a mile apart.

But despite the efforts of the emergency services, both of the teenagers succumbed to their wounds and died earlier this evening.

They have become the latest victims in the bloodshed to have swept across the capital, with eight people fatally stabbed or shot since November 25.

It is the latest in a wave of vicious attacks to have erupted on the streets of the capital, after a teenage boy was brutally stabbed on a busy Victoria Line train in Stockwell station in Lambeth on Wednesday.

This month, three people were stabbed on November 4 in Colindale, North London.

When officers arrived, they found three males with stab wounds close to Colindale tube station.

The trio, two in their 20s and one in his 30s, were taken to hospital for treatment to stab injuries. Their condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

In late October, a 21-year-old delivery driver was killed minutes before finishing his shift in Brixton during a brutal double killing.

Friends of Guilherme Messias Da Silva say the Deliveroo driver was dropping off his final takeaway of the evening when he was fatally injured during the attack in Brixton, south London.

It’s believed Mr Messias Da Silva was caught up in a suspected drive-by gang shooting, his colleagues claimed. A 32-year-old man was killed during a knife attack near Waterloo Station the day before.

Two Metropolitan Police officers were also stabbed by a knifeman in the West End the month before.

Approximately 10,366 knife crime offenses have been recorded this year starting in January 2022, according to police statistics, compared with 9,050 over the same period in 2021.
