Kris Herzog, one of Beverly Hills’ most respected and battle-tested security professionals, is speaking out after the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk—an event he says could have been prevented.
Herzog, the CEO of The Bodyguard Group and a seasoned bodyguard for the world’s elite, recently shared with the Daily Mail a dire warning he had given to Charlie Kirk. During a rally on March 6 at California State University, Herzog cautioned Kirk, predicting with certainty that he would “100 percent be killed at one of his upcoming university speaking events” unless significant safety measures were implemented.
The Bodyguard Group, renowned for its elite protection services, employs off-duty police officers, Navy SEALs, and military veterans. The company boasts a prestigious track record, having safeguarded high-profile figures from Kim Kardashian to presidential candidates, without a single injury to its team members. Despite Herzog’s pressing advice for heightened security measures—including bulletproof barriers, off-duty police presence, thorough weapon screenings, and sniffer dog inspections—Kirk did not act on these recommendations.
“Unfortunately, he never got back to me, and now my prediction of his murder has come true,” Herzog stated, highlighting the tragic outcome of his unheeded counsel. As Kirk’s political profile rose, so did the risks, yet his security remained insufficient.
Mark Wilson, another prominent security advisor who had discussions with Kirk, echoed Herzog’s concerns. “We’re big fans of Turning Point, being conservatives ourselves, and we talked about the lack of security. He’s in close contact with these unpredictable crowds and doesn’t seem to wear a bulletproof vest. It’s truly unfortunate what has happened,” Wilson commented.
Mark Wilson, another top security advisor who spoke with Kirk directly, added, “We’re huge Turning Point fans, being conservatives, and we’d discussed the lack of security because he’s up close with these nutcase kids and doesn’t appear that he ever wears a bulletproof vest. It’s super sad what has happened.”
Herzog detailed his recommendations: “I told him that a sniper would probably go for a headshot…B7-level ballistic glass was critical.” He also preached the necessity of active-duty police on site, careful monitoring of all rooflines and sniper angles, and thorough weapon screening for anyone near the stage.
