Labour MPs have pocketed nearly £4 million from striking unions, it emerged yesterday.
Some 143 of the party’s MPs and their local constituency groups have received £3.96million in union donations since being elected.
It sparked fresh accusations that union barons behind walkouts crippling Britain were Labour’s ‘paymasters’.
Labour is opposing legislation proposed by the Government which would force unions to run a minimum level of services during strikes to ensure public safety. It has vowed to repeal the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill, currently in the Lords, if it wins the next election.

The new law would cover workers in the Health Service, education, transport, the fire brigade, border security and the nuclear industry. It would allow ministers to impose minimum service levels during walkouts and bosses would be able to sack staff who refuse to cross picket lines to provide vital services.

Party deputy leader Angela Rayner was the second-highest beneficiary with £264,552. Leader Sir Keir Starmer has pocketed £83,455 since becoming an MP in 2015. The analysis was compiled by the Conservatives for a new website – www.theyworkforunions.co.uk
