WALMART has joined other major companies in abandoning X.

The massive retailer announced on Friday that it would no longer be advertising on Elon Musk’s social media platform.

“We aren’t advertising on X as we’ve found other platforms to better reach our customers,” a Walmart spokesperson said.

Ever since Musk’s takeover of Twitter and rebranding to X, the platform has struggled to retain advertisers.

Apple, Disney, and Warner Bros Discovery are just a few of the other major companies that have recently suspended their presence on the platform.

Companies have grown concerned about a rising presence of antisemitic content on X.

In November, Musk appeared to agree with a post that said members of the Jewish community were promoting hate towards white people, which Musk called “the actual truth.”

The post was referencing a conspiracy called The Great Replacement theory which spreads the claim that Jewish people and leftists are scheming to create a “white genocide.”

Musk apologized for replying to the antisemitic post at a New York Times DealBook event on Wednesday.

“I mean, look, I’m sorry for that … post,” he said.

“It was foolish of me. Of the 30,000, it might be literally the worst and dumbest post I’ve ever done.

“And I’ve tried my best to clarify six ways from Sunday, but you know at least I think it’ll be obvious that in fact, far from being antisemitic, I’m in fact philosemitic.”

Despite the apology, Musk didn’t hold his feelings back about advertisers abandoning his platform.

“If somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f**k yourself. Go f**k yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is,” Musk said.

He specifically called out Disney CEO Bob Iger and said the advertising boycott could kill X.

“What this advertising boycott is gonna do is it’s gonna kill the company,” he said.

“That is what everybody on Earth will know.

“We’ll be gone, and it’ll be gone because of an advertiser boycott.”
