Graham Gene Potter Arrested – Who Is He?

Graham Gene Potter is the killer of Kim Barry who has been on the run for more than a decade now but successfully has been apprehended today!

He served 15 years in jail for the murder of 19-year-old Kim Barry near Wollongong in the year 1981.

Kim was beaten and beheaded by Potter. Back then, he was 23 years old, working as a coal miner while Barry was attending her dance classes.

On February 6, 1981, Kim was killed after she had rejected Potter’s sexual advances. Her remains were found near a mountain lookout at Jamberoo.

Potter was also accused of being contracted to kill a man at the wedding of the son of Melbourne underworld figure Mick Gatto.

Graham Gene Potter was arrested on Monday, February 21, 2022. Police had found him in Ravenshoe in Far North Queensland.

The authorities have released a photo of him being handcuffed. The 64-year-old man is seen wearing a grey shirt and black shorts.

He was last spotted in Tully, in North Queensland, in 2010. In the 12 years, he had fled to Victoria and had been living under the cover.

Potter is expected to appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The convicted murderer has an extensive criminal history. Historical records have revealed that he has been involved in crimes since the age of 18.
