Arsenal are reportedly lining up a third bid for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz in January.

The Gunners had two offers for the Brazilian rejected on Deadline Day on September 1.

According to The Sun, Arsenal will return to the table this winter amid concerns over injury-prone midfielder Thomas Partey.

Villa turned down £23million in the summer window and it is understood they may now accept a smaller fee.

Luiz is out of contract in June 2023 and the Villans risk losing the 24-year-old for nothing at the end of the season.

The Brazil international has only played 240 minutes for Steven Gerrard’s side this term and believed to be keen on a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are thought to be confident that £15m will be enough to land Luiz.

Reports suggest Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has grown frustrated with Partey’s persistent injury problems.

The Ghanaian missed Arsenal’s last nine games of the 2021/22 campaign, which proved costly as they fell out of the top-four and were pipped by north London rivals Tottenham.

Partey has only featured in half of the opening eight matches this season and suffered another setback on international duty.

The 29-year-old is now expected to miss the crucial north London derby against Tottenham on Saturday – which is LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on talkSPORT.
