It was a footy scandal that, in ordinary circumstances, should have been splashed across the front pages of the Melbourne newspapers.
The wife of a star Collingwood player discovered he had sent explicit photos to other women over Snapchat. He’d also made references to illicit substances.
That was in 2018.
While it would have been a killer blow for some relationships, the Crisps, who share three daughters, worked through their issues privately and emerged out the other side with their marriage intact.
Then the messages were leaked in April 2023 and Jack, 31, was forced to address his embarrassing mistake from five years earlier.
He issued a public apology after meeting the AFL’s integrity unit regarding the leak, which included explicit images, crude comments and references to ‘lines’.
What ensued was a year from hell for the couple as they battled media scrutiny over the old wound, with Mikayla, 29, left to field questions about why she chose to stay with her husband – all while welcoming their third child, Murphy, that same year.

Two years on and it seems the mother-of-three has managed to brush off the lurid headlines as she stepped back into the public eye on Friday for a glamorous girls’ night out with her friends at Bar Carolina in South Yarra, Melbourne.
In pictures exclusively obtained by Daily Mail Australia, Mikayla could be seen arriving at the restaurant with fellow WAG Brodie Ryan, who showed up without her AFL coach partner Nathan Buckley.
Also in tow was Mikayla’s close friend, model Stacey Ellen Fleming, and one other unidentified woman as the group knocked back a few wines over a gossip session to kick off their night.
The group certainly wouldn’t have run out of things to talk about as Mikayla leaned on her friends for support after a trying few years. The sighting confirms she remains very much part of the WAG inner circle in spite of Jack’s past indiscretion.
The blonde put on a leggy display in a tiny jean skirt topped with a jean vest from Peppermayo, which featured precarious ties in the front.
Mikayla highlighted her toned and tanned pins with a pair of red strappy heels.
Brodie, 36, opted for a more casual look, slipping into a pair of loose-fitting ripped jeans which sat low on her hips.
She offered a glimpse of side-boob in a backless black top that matched her towering pumps.

The brunette began dating Nathan, 52, in 2022 a short while after his last relationship with celebrity cosmetic nurse Alex Pike ended.
Nathan was Jack’s Collingwood coach for several years after the Pies gun joined the team in 2015, with Jack previously crediting the AFL veteran with helping launch his footy career.
But that almost all came crashing down in 2023 when Jack’s explicit Snapchat conversations with other women came to light.
His wife Mikayla broke her silence on the matter just over a week later, saying the messages were from 2018 and the pair had already dealt with the matter privately when it occurred.
The AFL said Jack admitted he had consensually sent the photos to another person several years ago and had acknowledged ‘the content and his language, regardless of the setting, was extremely inappropriate’.
Jack managed to avoid a suspension and his wife, with whom he shares daughters Lilah, six, Sloane, four, and Murphy, one, insisted they had both moved on from the incident.
‘No marriage is perfect, and I have always maintained that our relationship has had its ups and downs,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘We are all human and we all make mistakes. Strength of character is shown in those who face their mistakes head on by owning them and learning from them.’

Mikayla added their relationship had grown stronger since the incident and thanked those who showed support for them since the pictures became public.
‘Jack and I have both grown significantly as individuals, and as a couple, in the years that have passed since the incident occurred,’ she added.
‘A heartfelt thank you to those who have taken the time to reach out and offer support or kind words these past few weeks.
‘It hasn’t been easy to have our private relationship be publicly commented on in a negative manner.
‘This is especially so when matters reported are historical, private, and were appropriately dealt with at the time.’
In deciding not to suspend or fine Jack, the integrity unit took into consideration his apology and his improved behaviour in the years since the photos were sent.
‘While the content was produced a number of years ago, and Jack has shown significant improvement in his behaviour, the incident serves as a reminder to all players to understand the responsibility to themselves, their clubs and their professional careers,’ AFL football boss Andrew Dillon said in a statement.
In his apology, Jack lamented the impact the release of the photos had had on his family but insisted he had ‘learned a lot and grown as a person’ since sending them years ago.
‘Last week I became aware that a video was being shared online containing private images which I had sent to another person in 2018,’ Jack said.
‘I want to apologise for my actions and the impact they’ve had on my family and our club.
‘I am incredibly fortunate to have the support of Collingwood, my wife Mikayla and my daughters.
‘While I am disappointed in myself for those actions, the impact this has had on my wife and my family hurts the most and I apologise to them for that.’

The footage that circulated of Jack in 2023 showed a man scrolling through several Snapchat images, which included a number of messages.
Some of them didn’t appear to be legible, but a picture appearing to be Jack sporting a beard featured in a number of the images.
At one point in the video, the person swiping through the pictures can be heard saying, ‘Wait for it, wait for it,’ before an image appearing to show a man holding his genitalia appeared.
An image in the message allegedly sent by Crisp shows what seems to be a photo of the Magpies star wearing a seatbelt above a caption that reads: ‘You young girls are my little sl**s. I’ll tell you what to do.’
Another image seems to show Crisp above text saying, ‘Come and drink and have some lines. Just have bit of party. Doesn’t have to lead to anything unless you want.’
