Lionel Messi’s father Jorge Messi has taken to social media to deny rumours about his son’s future.
The 35-year-old Argentina icon is coming to the end of his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain this summer and yet to sign a new deal.
This situation has of course sent the rumour mill into overdrive.
Some outlets have claimed Messi will likely remain with the French champions, while others have linked him to Inter Miami.
More recently, a rumour has emerged suggesting his future may lie in the Middle East.
With Cristiano Ronaldo having signed for Al-Nassr, it’s been reported that Messi may follow him to Saudi Arabia and join Al-Hilal.
On Friday, Messi Sr took to Instagram to address some of the rumours.
The 65-year-old posted screenshots of three posts which he insists are false.
The first stated that Messi left PSG’s Tuesday training session due to issues with manager Christophe Galtier.
The second stated that PSG are not open to Messi’s conditions to sign new deal with them.
And the third stated that Messi has requested a €600million annual salary to sign for Al-Hilal.
Messi Sr captioned these three rumours with the words: “FAKE NEWS!!!!”
He added: “How long are they going to lie??? Where are the tests??? Ahhh it’s all fake… OK!!!
“No matter how many people post, don’t believe anything.
“WE WILL NOT TOLERATE MORE INVENTIONS TO GAIN FOLLOWERS.”
