In an NBA preseason game, Milwaukee Bucks will take on Memphis Grizzlies at the Fiserv Forum. The top two clubs from the previous season will compete in this matchup. Two teams were predicted to go to the finals, despite not being among the top contenders for the championship. And this season, just like in 2021–2022, both teams will undoubtedly be among the top.
The local team advanced to the Eastern Conference playoffs, where they fell to the Boston Celtics—who would eventually go to the NBA Finals—by a very slim margin. The Memphis Grizzlies had a similar situation when they lost to the eventual champion Warriors in the Western Conference playoffs. Last year, both clubs advanced to the semifinals of their respective conferences but fell to the eventual champions. They played pretty even series in both instances, making the eventual winners more difficult.
The Golden State Warriors eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies in six games while the Milwaukee Bucks were defeated 4-3 by the Boston Celtics (later champions). The fact that both have caused the finalist teams a lot of trouble speaks volumes about the immense potential of both franchises, which they will undoubtedly aim to realize in the upcoming season, in which both will unquestionably be contenders to make it to the finals.
