Paris Saint-Germain owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists Lionel Messi is happy in the French capital amid speculation surrounding his future.
Messi signed a two-year contract with PSG in 2021 and will become a free agent once again in the summer.
The 35-year-old made an emotional exit from Barcelona and there has always been speculation that he might head back to Spain.
Club president Joan Laporta has made no secret that they would love to have him return. Whether they could afford to sign him is another matter.
Al-Khelaifi gave an exclusive interview with talkSPORT’s Jim White at the Qatar World Cup and said: “He is with us. He is a Paris Saint-Germain player and has a contract with us. He has a contract with us and we will see at the end of the season. He’s happy in Paris.”
Messi himself, who is in Qatar with Argentina, said he will decide on his future after the World Cup.
He said: “[My future] will depend on how I feel personally and physically above all. After this World Cup we will see what could happen with my career.”
Al-Khelaifi also claimed that he had received a €4billion offer for the French champions but was not interested in entertaining a complete sale.
Confirming an offer had been made, he said: “Over €4bn. We are not going to sell, but why not a small percentage in the club? We think about different offers.”
PSG remain among the biggest spenders in world football, backed by the vast wealth of their Qatari owners.

They hold the record for the two most expensive transfers in football history, spending a combined £361m on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Al-Khelaifi added: “The club and people are always talking about Paris Saint-Germain and think we have just money and spend money… that’s not true.
“If you own a company then you need to inject money and that’s about business and football. We bought the club for €70m and now it’s worth over €4bn.
“We have different offers. Yes, it’s a fantastic business and are we doing a good project? I believe yes.
“In football you take decisions and you can decide the wrong decisions. We are also honest, we are doing our best.
“We brought the club from where we were to where we are today and I think we should be proud.”
