Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been described as ‘the perfect option’ for Chelsea this summer ahead of his transfer deadline day move.

The Premier League club have agreed a deal for the Barcelona striker that will see them pay £13million and wing-back Marcos Alonso head in the opposite direction to the Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old is heading back to London just eight months after he left Arsenal under a cloud before joining the Catalan giants.

Barca have confirmed that Aubameyang isn’t training with the club in order to finalise a move away, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Since moving to LaLiga, Aubameyang has certainly hit the goal trail with 13 goals in 24 appearances for the club, and according to Ally McCoist, the attacker will prove to be a strong addition for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, McCoist said: “They certainly need a centre-forward, they need an out and out goalscorer.

“Sterling will certainly get them goals, but I just look at them against Southampton and I worry because with [Kai] Havertz and [Hakim] Ziyech, I don’t think there’s enough goals there.

Romelu Lukaku didn’t turn out to be the answer and they need a centre forward.

“Manchester City and Liverpool went out and got the two best that were available, but I think that Aubameyang will have something to prove.

“We know he’ll score goals in the Premier League. He’ll come back and he’ll feel that he has something to prove so there’ll be an added wee bit to him as well.”

Agbonlahor added: “There’s no one out there for the future, so Aubameyang for a season or two is the perfect option for me.”
