Washington Freedom locking horns with the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the 9th Match of the inaugural season of the MLC. The match will be played at Church Street Park in the United States on the 21st of July, 2023, at 3:00 AM IST. Washington Freedom have had a rocky start to the tournament. While they have won one of their games, they lost the other rather significantly. Currently, they are in the second-last position in the points table, just ahead of their opponents for this game, the Los Angeles Knight Riders. The Knight Riders are yet to win a match and are looking at elimination if they fail to string together a few successful results.
Washington Freedom will be taking heart from the fact that they won their last match against the table topper, the Texas Super Kings. In a thrilling contest, they prevailed by six runs after scoring 163 in their 20 overs while batting first. For the Knight Riders, there is a lot to improve on every front. The heavy defeat has now left them in need of some big wins in order to survive in the tournament.
