A 13-year-old has been arrested on a felony weapon charge after police say he brought a gun to a middle school football game.
STARKE, Fla. — A teenager in Bradford County was arrested with a felony weapon charge after bringing a gun to a football game, according to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO said that at around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, during a middle school football game at the Bradford High School football stadium, a Bradford Middle School administrator received a tip that a 13-year-old had been seen carrying a gun.
When the administrator confronted the teenager, BSCO said they identified a gun case inside his backpack.
BCSO also said that the teen pulled a BB gun from his waistband.
After a School Protection Deputy made contact with the teen’s parents, BCSO said that the teen’s mother told him not to carry the gun before leaving for work.
The teen was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice after his arrest, BCSO said.
