() Bryan Kohberger, the man convicted of murdering four college students in Idaho in 2022, has complained about his food, among other things, during his stint in an Idaho prison.

“I have on several occasions, not received all items of food on my tray,” Kohberger wrote in a July 31 complaint form obtained by .

Kohberger is known to follow a vegan diet and avoids foods containing animal products, including meat, eggs and milk. He claimed in the complaint that he has not received “any replacements” on his food tray, likely referring to food alternatives suitable for a vegan.

“I address this during service, and have yet to receive any replacements. In fact, the kitchen is not even called. The policy book confirms items missing, which are pointed out at the time of service will be replaced. I wish to, without exception, receive those replacements,” Kohberger said.

He said the “nutritional standard is not being upheld unless I receive my full tray.”

Sheriff Richard Skiles has said that the Latah County Jail, where Kohberger was held previously, would supply vegan meals something the father of one of the victims has spoken out about, saying Kohberger received “unprecedented” treatment.

Bryan Kohberger complains of threats from inmates

Kohberger’s food complaint was one of many.

He filed an initial complaint July 30, a week after his sentencing, saying other inmates were flooding their cells on purpose while subjecting him to “minute-by-minute verbal threats/harassment,” according to documents obtained by . In a follow-up communication Aug. 4, Kohberger said he had faced threats of sexual assault.

Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the fatal stabbings of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. Weeks before the trial was scheduled to start, he pleaded guilty to the murders on July 2.

He is serving his sentence in the J-Block at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.

In a July 31 grievance, Bryan Kohberger complains about the quality of food service at his maximum-security prison.
