Chicago robbery: Man robbed at gunpoint while leaving Ashland Avenue gym in Lakeview, CPD says

CHICAGO (WLS) — A man was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning while leaving a North Side gym, Chicago police said.

The man was walking toward his vehicle about 4:15 a.m. in the 3200-block of North Ashland Avenue in Lakeview when two male suspects, who were both armed with handguns, approached him and demanded his belongings, CPD said.

The man complied, and there were no injuries reported.

Area Three Detectives are investigating.

Another robbery involving the same suspects took place about 10 minutes later in the 2100-block of North Ashland, CPD said.

A 50-year-old man was outside when a dark SUV approached, and the suspects got out armed with guns, according to police. The suspects demanded his belongings, and the victim complied, CPD said.

The suspects drove away, south on Ashland.

No injuries were reported, and Area Five detectives are investigating.

No one was in custody later Monday morning.
