ST. CHARLES, Ill. (WGN) — A chiropractor from Illinois is facing charges for allegedly recording patients without their knowledge while they were in a state of undress, as revealed by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office on Thursday.
David Hanson, 43, a resident of Batavia and proprietor of Hanson Family Chiropractic, has been charged with several felonies.
- Producing child pornography, Class X felony (5 counts)
- Disseminating child pornography, Class X felony (3 counts)
- Possessing child pornography, Class 2 felony (6 counts)
- Unauthorized video recording of a minor through/under the clothes, Class 3 felony (3 counts)
Authorities claim that Hanson illicitly filmed at least 186 patients, predominantly females, including minors as young as 3 years old, as well as adults.
The investigation was initiated in September following a cyber tip. According to the Kane County State’s Attorney, this tip led authorities to discover multiple hidden cameras. These devices were reportedly concealed behind vents and fans in a red light therapy room, where patients typically undress privately for treatment.
