Disgusted British Motorists Take Control After Climate Change Activists Block Roadways – RedState

As Kamala Harris might say if she could think for herself and not be beholden to the Democratic party, when you’ve got to go somewhere you’ve got to go somewhere.

And one thing millions of Americans of all political persuasions agree with is that there are few things more annoying when you’re on the road than being blocked by protesters who have chained themselves together in solidarity or who have somehow glued themselves to the pavement to make it harder for the local authorities to move them.

British drivers trying to get to their destinations recently found themselves in such a situation when “Just Stop Oil” climate change protesters from various woke activist organizations banded together to bring traffic to a stop on roadways. The tactic, which the fanatical leftists are employing throughout the month of October in an effort to get the UK government to “halt all future licensing for the exploration, development and production of oil and gas,” so frustrated some motorists that they took control of the situation in short order:

Angry motorists have been filmed dragging climate activists out of the road during Just Stop Oil’s latest protest in the capital.

The Metropolitan Police made 100 arrests over this weekend as Just Stop Oil campaigners blocked roads in London in a bid to get the government to act on the environmental crisis.

Drivers in Westminster were seen dragging protesters out of the road near the parliament, as one confronted the climate group by saying: “I have to go to hospital… stop interfering with us.”

One activist was also filmed climbing on top of a police van and glueing his hand to it in Sunday’s protest.

Watch:

Blocking roadways and busy highways has become an increasingly common tactic for the climate change activists, as evidenced by this one that happened Monday morning on the Capital Beltway, where arrests were eventually made:

During the Antifa/Black Lives Matter-led “protests” that took place here in 2020 after the officer-involved death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd, there were numerous instances where so-called “peaceful protesters” took over busy streets, blocking them and preventing the normal flow of traffic from one place to the next in an effort to spread their warped “Defund the Police” message, a that backfired spectacularly on House Democrats in the November 2020 elections.

There were angry confrontations in some instances where either the demonstrators surrounded the vehicle or jumped on the vehicle, or the irritated drivers proceeded to try their luck and approached the agitators who were blocking the streets, trying to force their way through. Injuries and arrests were reported at some of them. In a couple of instances, deaths were reported as a result of the confrontations.

As I’ve noted before, these types of actions by the frustrated UK drivers, if used here in the U.S., would lead to accusations of “violence!” and “you’re violating my free speech rights!” but in the U.K. it appears that at least some drivers understand there’s got to be a delicate balance between expressing your political opinions on roadways and allowing people to get to work, school, their medical appointments or to their job interviews unimpeded.
