Dolphins Take On Panthers; Lions Face Off Against Bengals

Post sports gambling editor/producer and digital sports editor Matt Ehalt is back for his second season in the NFL Bettor’s Guide.

Dolphins (+1.5) over PANTHERS

It’s risky to support the Dolphins at this point, given the team’s disarray compounded by the recent loss of Tyreek Hill due to a severe injury sustained against the Jets on Monday night.

However, the Panthers may be even more of a mess entering Week 5.

Bryce Young isn’t progressing as expected in his third year, running back Chuba Hubbard might not play in the upcoming game, and their defense has recently conceded 42 points to the average Patriots in a lackluster performance.

Although the Dolphins also hold a 1-3 record, they have shown more competitiveness with offensive talents like Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, and De’Von Achane, who are poised to exploit Carolina’s less formidable defense.

Miami should have just enough to escape Charlotte with a win — and a winning streak.

Lions (-10.5) over BENGALS

Picking massive road favorites can be a foolish endeavor, but the Bengals have been horrendous since Joe Burrow exited with his turf toe injury.

Despite a plethora of weapons, Jake Browning has led Cincinnati to just 13 combined points over the past weeks against the Vikings and Broncos, respectively.

Running back Chase Brown has been ineffective, while star receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have been completely neutralized.

Betting on the NFL?

The Lions, meanwhile, have been an offensive juggernaut since being shut down by Green Bay in Week 1.

They’ve averaged 41.3 points over their last three games, including 34 points against a solid Browns defense last week.

While Detroit’s defense is a step below Minnesota’s and Denver’s, the Bengals don’t have the QB to keep up.

Bet on another Lions blowout that forces the Bengals to consider a quarterback change.

2025 record: 2-5-1

Last week: 0-2; Buccaneers (L); Ravens (L)
