Sunday marked the final opportunity of the 2025 season to visit the Wicker Park farmers market in Chicago.
With Halloween fast approaching, the Northwest Side neighborhood embraced the festive atmosphere without delay.
The Wicker Park-Bucktown Chamber of Commerce organized Halloween-themed events, including the farmers market and the “Meet Me on Milwaukee” festivities, on Sunday.
This year’s market featured more than 60 vendors, according to Pamela Maass from the Wicker Park-Bucktown Chamber of Commerce.
Visitors enjoyed a variety of spooky activities such as trick-or-treating, wearing costumes, participating in a scavenger hunt, getting their faces painted, and much more.
“Our team is dressing up as villains, so I know I’m currently a pumpkin, but don’t get me wrong, I will be Captain Hook later today,” Maass said.
Walgreens will also host a free flu shot and COVID vaccine clinic.
Nicole Kmiotek is the founder of the Coffee Nook, a coffee company that’s grown with this farmers market.
“I am working in to a brick-and-mortar and being here I have had the opportunity to build a client base, try new recipes, perfect my own in-house syrups. I have a chai coming to market,” Kmiotek said.
The farmers market is happening near Damen and Schiller.
Heads up! Parking is expected to be tight; organizers encourage drivers to arrive early.
