Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has issued a stern warning regarding the impending federal government shutdown, emphasizing the severe impact it could have as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are on the brink of cessation for millions on November 1.

The majority of his fellow Democrats have resolutely demanded that Republicans reinstate health care subsidies as a prerequisite for reopening the government. However, Fetterman suggests an alternative approach: restarting the government first and then engaging in health care negotiations with Republican leaders.

Failing to reach a compromise would jeopardize SNAP benefits for 42 million Americans, he noted.
