Hunter Biden Hearings Open Wednesday, AOC Thinks It's 'Atrocious' to Investigate Recovering Drug Addict

The anticipation grows minute by minute, the tension grows thick, and the breath quickens as the hour approaches.

No, I’m not talking about Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech, I’m referring to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s investigation into Hunter Biden and his laptop from hell, which starts Wednesday.

The first hearing, formally titled “Protecting Speech from Government Interference and Social Media Bias, Part 1: Twitter’s Role in Suppressing the Biden Laptop Story” will focus on the (mostly successful efforts) by the social media giant to censor the story of Hunter’s laptop and will feature the company’s former Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde, former Deputy General Counsel James Baker, and former Global Head of Trust & Safety Yoel Roth.

Gadde and Baker fired were fired by incoming CEO Elon Musk soon after his purchase of the company in October 2022, while Roth saw the writing on the wall and resigned in November.

Democrats have plans to protect the Bidens, though. Leave it to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to have the most absurd angle; she thinks Hunter’s past drug use makes him off-limits:

As Ocasio-Cortez sees it, Republicans are “weaponizing” a congressional committee to attack a private citizen in its focus on Hunter Biden. “And I think it’s especially atrocious given that this was a person who has been open about struggling with substance misuse and it’s just a horrifying thing to do.”

Future hearings will investigate Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings—and possible attempts to influence his father—as well as the sales of the junior Biden’s high-priced paintings to anonymous buyers for eye-popping sums, which may explain the White House’s enthusiasm for Ocasio-Cortez’s “nothing to see here” distraction. One wonders what reward she’ll get for being a “heat shield” for Junior.

This could get real interesting, folks.

The committee’s chairman, Kentucky Representative James Comer, previewed his intentions in October of 2022:

Comer, details where they’ll begin:

“We’re going to start with the hard drive because there’s a lot of evidence on the hard drive that suggests Joe Biden knew very well what his family was involved in,” Comer said last month. “We want to make sure that our national security isn’t compromised because China is an adversary right now.”

Despite evidence of potential wrongdoing, the FBI has done seemingly nothing with the information.

Hunter meanwhile has gone on the offense, asking the Department of Justice and the Delaware attorney general to investigate those who accessed or disseminated contents of the laptop. It’s an almost laughable strategy that George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley says will fail:

The reason is simple: He does not have a privacy case against the media or critics.

This story has been hidden from us and censored for far too long. And despite what most media will tell you, it’s not about a troubled man’s drug use and sexual foibles—it’s about possible corruption at the highest levels of American power.

Since it’s clear Merrick Garland, the Department of Justice and the FBI will continue to bury it, we can only hope that Comer and the Oversight Committee can actually find out the truth.
