Travis Kelce is recovering from his disappointment following the Kansas City Chiefs’ defeat in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, missing out on the chance to win the prestigious Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The tight end, 35, spoke to reporters after the Eagles emerged victorious with a 40-22 final score over the Chiefs.
Admitting it was a disappointing performance across the board, Kelce praised the Eagles on their win and said they bested the Chiefs in “all three phases” of the game.
“Hats off to the Eagles, man,” the 3-time Super Bowl champ told reporters in the locker room after the game in a video shared on X. “They got after us, all three phases.”
“[We] couldn’t get it going offensively,” went on. “I mean they just got after us on all three phases and then on top of that, you know, turnovers, penalties, playing behind the sticks on offense.”
“We just couldn’t find that spark,” he added. “We couldn’t find that momentum.”
The visibly somber athlete admitted that he doesn’t recall the Chiefs playing this poorly all season.
“We haven’t played that bad all year,” he said. “You don’t lose like that without everything going bad.”
Still, Kelce said that he and his team never threw in the towel and fought tooth and nail till the very end.
“This team is gonna fight til the end forever and you saw that. Even with the score late, we were always gonna fight,” he added.
Kelce finished the regular season with career lows in yardage (863) and touchdowns (three), and the athlete — who is now facing retirement questions — had zero receptions in the first half.
Following the interview, Kelce was reunited with his family members and girlfriend Taylor Swift, whom he has been dating since 2023.

A downcast Kelce — dressed in ’70s-inspired attire — made his way to the VIP suite following the Chiefs’ loss, during which his pop superstar girlfriend received a frosty reception from Eagles fans after appearing on the Jumbotron.
After being caught off guard by the harsh reception to her presence, the singer turned to her pal and rapper Ice Spice in the VIP box.
“What’s going on?” the 14-time Grammy winner, 35, was seen saying on the scoreboard in response to the boos.
Still, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker appeared unfazed as she continued to cheer on her beau from the suite.
