Illinois Police Seek New Leads in Chilling 1998 Cold Case: Will This Be the Breakthrough Year?

PALATINE, Ill. (WGN) Illinois authorities are turning to the public for assistance with a cold case involving a missing person that dates back to 1998.

Anthony “Tony” Klama was declared missing on November 6, 1998, following his unexplained absence from work.

The last confirmed sighting of Klama was the previous evening at around 11:30 p.m. in the Chicago suburb of Palatine.

According to witnesses, Klama was observed in the vicinity of a vehicle alongside an unidentified man, who was described as either white or Latino.

He’s not been seen or heard from since.

Klama was 36 at the time of his disappearance and was 6’1 and weighed around 160 lbs.

He had brown hair, green eyes and a mustache. Klama had Native American-themed tattoos on both arms and on his chest.

On the night he was last seen, he was wearing dark jeans, a blue and white flannel T-shirt and a baseball cap.

In 2014, two “good Samaritans” mailed an anonymous letter to Crime Stoppers about the case.

Police are hoping to speak with them and urge them to come to the department with any information.
