Jimmy Kimmel’s Wife Frequently Joked About Trump Before Her Suspension

As Jimmy Kimmel faces a potential sudden end to his late-night talk show after spending 22 years on ABC, he will find solace and support from his most devoted fan – his wife Molly McNearney.

Molly, who is 47 and has won an Emmy, is much more than just a supportive spouse. She was the head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live! from 2008 to 2023, and she has appeared on the show 11 times, even hosting a recurring segment called ‘Win Jimmy’s Crap.’

Last year, the 57-year-old comedian relied on Molly to respond to President Donald Trump’s criticisms, advising, ‘Go to Mar-a-Lago. Spend every day cheating at golf and watching Newsmax, and let a capable woman take charge.’

McNearney taunted the 79-year-old politician over his 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and pointed out how ‘one in three women in this country is currently living under an abortion ban because you stacked our Supreme Court.’

In 2022, the Missouri-born mom tweeted her anti-gun views: ‘Today I #WearOrange because taking our kids to school shouldn’t be a life or death decision. Ban assault weapons. Pass universal background checks. And vote out anyone too cowardly to put kids before guns.’

Jimmy originally hired Molly as a writer’s assistant in 2004 but they didn’t begin dating until 2010 – the year after he ended his five-year relationship with fellow comedian Sarah Silverman.

As Jimmy Kimmel faces what might be the abrupt conclusion of his late-night talk show after 22 years on ABC, he’ll be receiving love and encouragement from his most fervent supporter – his second wife Molly McNearney (pictured Sunday)

‘I like to keep it separate, and I’m very good at compartmentalizing work,’ McNearney told Glamour in 2014.

‘At home, it’s a different relationship. At 10am he’s my boss, not my husband; he does say he’s my “husboss,” but I refuse to call him that.’

The married couple of 12 years are proud parents of 11-year-old daughter Jane and eight-year-old son Billy, whose open heart surgery due to a rare congenital heart defect made national headlines in 2017.

The Oscars producer is also stepmother to Kimmel’s two adult children – daughter Katie, 34; and son Kevin, nearly 32 – from his 14-year marriage to ex-wife Gina Maddy, which ended in 2003.

The four-time Emmy winner – whose contract was up next May – is said to be ‘absolutely f***ing livid’ over ABC’s decision to indefinitely pull his program over his remarks Monday and Tuesday about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

‘We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,’ Jimmy said in one of his monologues.

‘And doing everything they can to score political points from it.’

Kimmel is now meeting with network brass over the suspension, and his other hosting gig on ABC’s rebooted game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

‘Jimmy is p***ed over the decision to suspend him and the show,’ a source told Daily Mail on Wednesday.

The 47-year-old Emmy winner is no ordinary wife – she served as the head writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! from 2008–2023, and has made 11 appearances on camera including a regular segment called ‘Win Jimmy’s Crap’ (pictured in 2021)

A year ago, the 57-year-old comedian enlisted Molly to fire back at President Donald Trump’s criticism of him: ‘Go to Mar-a-Lago. Spend all day every day cheating at golf and masturbating to Newsmax and let a competent woman take over’

A source told Daily Mail on Wednesday: ‘Jimmy is p***ed over the decision to suspend him and the show. And he isn’t going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract’

It’s an ominous warning to all politically-outspoken presenters – particularly The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon and Late Night’s Seth Meyers – following CBS’ cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2-L, pictured Sunday) in July

Trump rejoiced on Truth Social Wednesday: ‘Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has zero talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on fake news NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!’

‘And he isn’t going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract. This is clearly the government overreaching. There’s no such thing as free speech in America if the government can lean on companies to stop any content they don’t like.’

Regardless of what happens, the new grandfather can still host his conspiracy theory YouTube series, The Rabbit Hole.
