Kinzinger and Schiff Tag Team Delusion About Kevin McCarthy as New GOP Leader

If this week’s Sunday shows are any indication, a few Democrat and default Dem/Never Trumper representatives are taking badly the news that broke late last week that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) sidled into “most likely” territory for the leader of the incoming GOP House majority.

A new Lefty narrative has been sent out: use shame and smear tactics to cow McCarthy, and put out the message he would need to crawl to the Democrats for votes to pass anything — because he’s now beholden to “Ultra MAGA” after the midterms. Not even kidding.

First, there’s Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who it appears is mighty sore he’s not going to get all of the camera time he’s used to in the new Congress, if McCarthy yanks him from committee roles. He sat down with Jonathan Karl on ABC News’ “This Week”:

“He’s a very weak leader of his conference,” Schiff told co-anchor Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week,” saying McCarthy will follow Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) direction.

“He will adhere to the wishes of the lowest common denominator,” Schiff added when asked about McCarthy’s plan to remove the California Democrat from the Intelligence committee. “And if that lowest common denominator wants to remove people from committees…that’s what they’ll do.”

“It’s going to be chaos with Republican leadership,” Schiff predicted.

“Sadly, the kind of the crazy caucus has grown among Republicans.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Nominal R-IL), appearing on CNN’s State of the Union” program, continued to snowball the emphasis on how chaotic the House will be under McCarthy, implying that he will be forced to compromise muchly (read: let Democrats have their way):

….I would not be surprised if Kevin McCarthy has to cut deals with Democrats, which is something he needs to keep in mind, because he’s not going to get 218 votes for everything he wants to pass, including government funding, because he’s got people that will never vote yes on anything. I have done this business for a while. And I will tell you, they’re just the hope yes, vote no caucus, They vote no on everything, or now they’re only going to vote for the most conservative stuff.

Let me get this straight — conservatives in Congress want to vote for legislation that aligns with their and their voters’ conservative principles? Get outta here! You just have to laugh and admire their naked attempt at this.

Besides, as Matt Margolis, my colleague over at PJ Media wrote earlier on Sunday–citing sources in a Washington Times piece–both Schiff and Kinzinger seem to have impure motives here:

Sources close to McCarthy told The Washington Times that Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell can expect to be kicked off the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence as well. Schiff falsely claimed to have seen intelligence that Trump colluded with Russia, and he heavily promoted the debunked Steele Dossier. Swalwell’s relationship with a Chinese spy had many in the GOP calling for him to be removed, but the Democrat-led House refused.

As they say, stay tuned.
