DENVER (KDVR) U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert has recently found herself at the center of a social media firestorm. The Colorado lawmaker drew criticism after photos circulated of her dressed in a sombrero and holding a sign with a playful, yet controversial, twist on the acronym ICE for Halloween.

The images, which surfaced on the platform X on Friday night, show Boebert smiling broadly while donning a sombrero. She is also holding a sign that reads, “Mexican Word of the Day: JUICY Tell me if… Juicy Ice coming,” in a pun that ostensibly mocks the pronunciation of “you see.” Accompanying her is an angel and a man seemingly dressed as an ICE officer, who ABC News has identified as Boebert’s boyfriend, Kyle Pearcy.

Further fueling the discussion, a separate photo emerged on Facebook, showing Boebert in the same costume sans the sign. According to the social media post, the images were taken during a Halloween bash at the Grainhouse in Windsor, Colorado.
