Illinois Governor JB Pritzker openly criticized the Trump administration’s deployment of National Guard troops in various U.S. cities.

“Historically, presidents have exercised this authority with great caution, and there’s a justified rationale for that,” Pritzker remarked.

His comments arise amid escalating tensions between Democratic-led cities and the Trump administration. Pritzker firmly stated that Chicago is not experiencing an insurrection and accused those claiming otherwise of spreading falsehoods.

“Illinois is not a territory to be seized,” Pritzker insisted. “Its residents are not subjects to be ruled over.”
