Livvy Dunne trolls Paul Skenes for his hilarious Pirates tumble

Paul Skenes took a tumble on Monday night.

Olivia “Livvy” Dunne, of course, had some fun with it.

While pitching for the Pirates against the Nationals, the ace found himself in the spotlight when he received a throw from infielder Ke’Bryan Hayes while attempting to cover third base in the top of the sixth inning.

During this play, Skenes fell to the ground as he caught the ball and made an effort to tag the runner, rolling on the grass beyond the bag to prevent a collision.

Dunne, the star’s girlfriend and an LSU gymnast, poked fun at the viral blooper.

“9.8 slight deduction on the landing,” Dunne wrote about Skenes fall, which wasn’t exactly the most graceful.

Skenes had a dominant start, fall notwithstanding, allowing just one earned run with six strikeouts and no walks over six innings in the win.

This outing marked a historic moment as Skenes and catcher Henry Davis became the first MLB battery pair to have both been selected as the first overall draft picks.

“[Davis] can call a game,” Skenes told reporters. “He was prepared. It’s not a surprise. I’ve been with him for the better part of two years now. You want to see why he’s the type of player he is, you don’t have to look very far. For him to come into a tough situation, call the game and catch as well as he did says a lot about it.”

The righty, in his second year in the big leagues, has a 2.96 ERA and 26 punchouts through 24 1/3 innings this season.

Dunne’s LSU gymnastics squad, which won the national title last year, is competing in the NCAA semifinals on Thursday.
